Catching One’s Breath: A Personal Reflection

March 19, 2017

For the last several months my mind has attempted to process the state it is in.  I feel like I have been running a marathon full speed with 100% effort and have just crossed the finished line.  I’m in that space where your breathing is still heavy like you are going full speed yet you are standing still.  My mind is unconsciously trying to gain control of belabored breathing although my body is as rest.  Although I have not been moving for several minutes I am still breathing hard with sweat dripping. I don’t know the biology, physiology, or the psychology of it all.  Still not sure if I like it or not!  But I’m thankful to have the words to explain it.
